UN Women National Committee of Aotearoa New Zealand are delighted to bring you a film fundraiser for the Wellington public premiere of 'My Year with Helen', directed by award-winning filmmaker Gaylene Preston.


UN Women is raising funds for the Meri Seif Bus (Safe Transport for women and children) project in Port Moresby, a major initiative for ending violence against women and girls in Papua New Guinea.

Wairarapa National Council of Women (which is celebrating its 50th birthday this year) warmly welcomes everyone (of all genders!) to commemorate International Women’s Day at The Lake House, Queen Elizabeth Park, Masterton from 4.30 to  6pm.

Come and meet old friends, meet new ones, enjoy Lake House refreshments which will be available, buy a raffle ticket, learn about the work that NZNCW has been doing since 1896 and hear an excellent speaker from one of our Pacific neighbours.

Banding Together in Nelson for International Women’s Day,

8th March 2017


People in Nelson will be invited to recognize International Women's Day (IWD) 2017 by wearing wristbands on Wednesday 8 March. The theme of IWD 2017 is "Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50:50 by 2030" and will be celebrated worldwide – with New Zealand focusing on “Violence against Women: An Equality and Human Rights Violation”.

Sue Kedgley, president of UN Women NC Aotearoa NZ, was the keynote speaker, emphasising that gender equality means better business.

International Women's Day Nightly Festivities Dunedin

In Dunedin, member Sam Allen led a group of fantastic University of Otago students to organise an evening of poetry, performance art, belly dancing and bands at Refuel Bar. The event was supported by the Otago University Students' Association.
