Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel

Celebrate women this International Women’s Day by taking in a little universe-saving heroism at the movies!  UN Women National Committee Aotearoa New Zealand is delighted to invite you to the opening weekend screening of Captain Marvel. All funds raised will go to the UN Women projects in the Pacific such as our Markets for Change initiative. These projects support eliminating violence against women, supporting humanitarian action, increasing female leadership and participation in civil society and economic empowerment across the Pacific.

Come along with a friend, daughter, relative, colleague, or with a special hero in your life. Enjoy the movie, a drink and a popcorn for less than the retail price, knowing you are helping raise much-needed funds for UN Women.

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. The film is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

UN Women are thrilled to see a female Super Hero lead with super human strength and smarts. So, whether you are a die hard Marvel fan or new to the Marvel series, Captain Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson) will be sure to make us all remember we can be Captains in our real-life fields and lives!
