On 22 May 2015, the ANZ Bank became an Empowerment Partner with the New Zealand National Committee for UN Women.
The ANZ bank is formally committed to gender equity and women's empowerment in the workplace, and is a signatory to the Women's Empowerment Principles. Women make up 37% of the leadership roles in the ANZ and 25% of their Executive Team. All staff can work flexibly in the ANZ, and they have extensive provisions around parental leave, including a Parental Leave Support Programme, and a Keeping in Touch programme. As a result, 80% of staff on parental leave return to work at the bank.
